Consistency in branding is incredibly important but, only if it goes hand in hand with a differentiated positioning. There’s little point in just being the same as your competitors and that positioning need to resonate with your target market, once you have that, then you really got something worth keeping consistent. Consistency is very important to maintain across the whole organisation; the visual look and feel, the messaging. You need to get every single department to produce a consistent experience across the whole product lifecycle, that’s especially important nowadays where everybody is making their product choices based on social media recommendations. If you can achieve that, then your customers will turn into applicants and evangelists and that’s really where you want to be as a brand.
