We were excited to host our latest Users Group Meeting at our London office last week. This time we were joined by eight of our clients from the USA and one from Germany who participated by webinar and watched the presenters on video along with the UK clients in the room with us.
The newest updates in Version 6.0 were showcased. The focus with 6.0 has been on fundamental improvements to the user experience through simplifying the user interface.
Digital Asset Management Platform UI Improvements
Ollie Rhodes, our Head of UI, showed our new consolidated UI look and feel in key parts of the digital asset management platform. With consistent icons, bigger buttons and clean look for forms, the system is tablet friendly too. Ollie demonstrated one click asset upload and download and the simplified album move. Using HTML5, uploading assets on Macs, iPhones and PCs in corporate networks with strict IT policies is made easy.
An increasing number of Brandworkz clients are using the digital asset management platform to store and manage video content. Ollie showed us the HTML5 video player in Brandworkz which streams over 3G with sound and clear video playback and pointed out some Brandworkz clients are uploading, storing and playing 7 Gb HD video files without any problem.
He explained that the motivation for these UI improvements is in line with our company value of Simplicity and is borne out of our research with clients that take up and usage of the system grows significantly when the interface is intuitive and the user experience easy.
Forthcoming features
Looking forward to the next release, Joel Stobart, Head of Development gave us a preview of the upgraded Blog within Brandworkz. To be used by clients with multiple marketing teams, offices and locations, it is an internal resource in the Brandworkz platform. Marketing teams will share news, updates, information and best practice between themselves.
Brandworkz Workflow will be enhanced with the improved Order Widget which takes a production workflow right through to final fulfilment or order of materials. A workflow managing the production process for a poster, for instance, will end with the physical printing of that poster, so print volumes, timings, delivery address etc are captured in the order for a seamless end-to-end production process.
Brandworkz users made suggestions about what they would like to see in future Brandworkz releases and as always we got useful feedback and plenty of development ideas.
We would like to thank all those who attended; your feedback and insights are greatly appreciated.
Please keep an eye out for our next Users Group meeting which is scheduled for Q1 2014.
